We Care About Our Community

At Oakland Regional Hospital, we understand and recognize the importance of supporting our community and the members of it.

Our physicians and staff share their expertise through supporting several local school athletic programs in the tri-county area such as Regina High School and Southfield Lathrup School District.

The hospital also hosts seminars and expos to educate residents of the surrounding communities on common health and wellness issues such as diabetes and arthritis. Upcoming events can be found on the News and Events page. Many expos are free to the public and all are welcome to attend.

We also sponsor several events and initiatives that promote the well being of the community including holding annual toy and school supply drives for Big Family of Michigan; a non-profit organization dedicated to saving children's lives by teaching the "Recognize and Report" method to everyone that comes in contact with any at-risk child, specifically foster children and to restore hope in an abused child who often feel hopeless and helpless in a foster care situation.

Additionally, Dr. Mehul Mehta and the nursing staff at Oakland Regional Hospital work diligently with the International Surgical Mission Support (ISMS) team and travel the world to help those in other countries who have little to no access to healthcare needs. Follow the ISMS team and their journey at www.facebook.com/ismission.

Oakland Regional Hospital also believes in the “green” initiative. Our facilities management team regularly reviews and implements environmentally sound processes and uses environmentally protective materials where appropriate.

  • Automatic lighting is used so that light is only being used when the room is being used.
  • Temperature control is automated for optimal energy efficiency.
  • A hospital wide recycling program is in place and encouraged.
